Structural Pruning

The most important to the well-being of you and your trees.

Structural pruning encourages trees to grow as they do in the forest: upright with one main trunk and small, well-spaced branches. This helps reduce the chance of your trees splitting or breaking. It is a detailed art based on the understanding of a tree’s biology.  Failure to properly prune could damage your property and would surely hurt the tree. Proper pruning is an important part of caring for trees.

Crown Reduction

Crown Reduction is a pruning process where the height of the tree or overall size of the canopy is reduced to an acceptable level by pruning each branch back to a leader that will assume the new dominant role.

Crown Thinning

Crown Thinning is a pruning process that eliminates conflicting branches and crossovers from the interior of the canopy. This increases air flow and light penetration and reduces structural pressure on the tree.

Crown Raising

Crown Raising is a pruning process where the lower branches of the tree are removed to increase visibility and to provide clearance over streets, sidewalks, driveways and structures.

Crown Cleaning

Crown Cleaning is required in situations where dead, damaged, or diseased branches need to be removed. This process reduces the risks of hazards and helps to promote health and vigor for the tree. Regular pruning eliminates these issues before they become a liability.

Restoration

When trees are improperly pruned, the canopy may need to be restored. Crown Restoration is a process by which a damaged tree is trained to resume its natural growth habit. Restoration works to improve the tree’s appearance and structure after improper tree pruning or storm damage.

Vista Pruning

Vista Pruning is a process where branches are selectively pruned to create a viewing window within the tree. This is most commonly done to improve the view of seascapes, landscapes and mountains. Vista pruning is also done to expose street signs to drivers and pedestrians.
